Disco Turkeys home schedule to feature more games at Wake’s Couch Ballpark

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (April 17, 2024) – The Carolina Disco Turkeys are excited to announce their home schedule for this summer, which will again include games at Wake Forest University’s David F. Couch Ballpark. The team will play all their weekend and holiday home games this season at the venue.

The Disco Turkeys open their season slate against the Uwharrie Wampus Cats at Couch Ballpark, formerly Ernie Shore Field, on Friday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m.

“We’re excited to be playing all of our big dates at one spot this season at Couch Ballpark,” said Greg Sullivan, president and co-owner of the Disco Turkeys. “Coach Tom Walter, his team and Wake Athletics have created a great, pro-quality baseball environment over there and have had highly-attended, energetic games at the stadium already this spring. We began playing some games there last year and our players and fans really enjoyed it, so we’re thrilled to be back and appreciate the opportunity.”

The home schedule features 10 games at Couch Ballpark, including a game on July 4, in the Disco Turkeys’ first season as a member of the MLB-supported Southern Collegiate Baseball League. They’ll play 18 home games in Winston-Salem overall with eight additional mid-week dates at Hanes Park’s RJ Reynolds field. The home season ends July 20 at Couch Ballpark and the Disco Turkeys play more than 40 games in all. The away schedule features non-league match-ups this year against the Pulaski River Turtles of the Appalachian League and trips to the Coastal Plain League’s Wilmington Sharks and High Point-Thomasville Hi-Toms.
